Becoming Spirited Away...

FULL VIEW PLEASE ^^

For because she's having a break from here for a bit and I wanted to give her something nice on her return. I was rifling through her old journals to see what sort of things she liked, and Spirited Away came up - She likes Haku x Chihiro *yaaaays*...I tried adding Haku but he kinda made it look unbalanced, if you understand me. So I gave Chihiro a wikkle Haku plushie. YAAY. ^^

I actually hate the plushie because it's waaay too, comedic, or whatever, for the rest of the picture. Sorry about the CRAP UNIMAGINATIVE NAME XD

I LOVE Spirited away. The train scene made me cry, and it made my dad get tears in his eyes too, just because it was -so- beautiful. It's so hard to explain unless you've seen it in the cinema. It's just beyond magical, it's undescribably affecting. It's just not the same on DVD.

Anyway. I suck at Miyasaki-style. As you can see I thought I'd go for a soft shading, because it suits the atmosphere more. I like Noface. I think he's cute. Despite chucking up rubbish and eating people. I also like the lamp with the leg. It hops and makes me squeal. XD

Lineart was in biro *Should REALLY stop using biro as it smudges nastily*...colours in Photoshop.

This was one of my 'big' project pictures, though the lineart took no more than say, 15 minutes, the colouring took about 4 hours, hence the complicated background @_o;
Hope people like this, I think it's one of my better pieces. Sorry that the characters dont blend in ;_; Gomen. I couldn't get them right.

PLEASE people who haven't seen any of Miyasaki's stuff, check it out because it's just amazing and inspiring - especially Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke ^^
